LR6 feels a lot slower.but I can't be sure because my camera pixel counts have also gone up over time and my latest body has 42MP for the computer to choke on.★★★★★ An Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 Upgrade review will not answer these 30 questions. My bigger beef is that I feel like the standalone LR version is a lot slower in processing these days. If and when I ever want a new camera I will have to make a new decision. I currently have LR 6.14 which works for my current equipment. They only get $50-$75 from me a year anyway, so I guess they don't care if they can get $120 a year from more dedicated users.
My take is Adobe decided they would prefer to suck more money from professional users via subscription and simply cut the hobbiest user such as me loose. I've been a long time LR user who would only buy a new version of LR every 3-5 years when I would make a camera purchase to something new. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! I have the last standalone version now with no monthly stipend, and if I ever buy a new camera, Adobe software will be the last of my considerations. I have zero issue of paying to get the latest release to support the latest cameras, and also get some new features to boot. I haven't found a suitable substitute for editing. I tried to find a way to get Lightroom 6 instead, as 6.1.2 supports these cameras, but it looks like the program is not supported any longer. I looked at the Creative Cloud trial (which I disagree with paying $10 a month forever to have the same thing I have now) and the program itself is really dumbed down compared to Lightroom 5.
I don't want to pay for this product twice, I think that's bad business, and its not an easy thing to afford. I change cameras fairly often and I've begun to run into an issue with various cameras I've bought not being able to read their RAW files (such as the Fuji X-T10 and the Rebel Sl2).
I purchased Lightroom 5 so long ago that I don't have the box, or the serial number still available (It used to be visible on the app itself, now the last 4 numbers are blurred).
